Brisbane’s Metro North Hospital and Health Service’s Central Patient Intake Unit (CPIU) is phasing out fax for all communications and is no longer accepting faxed referrals from general practices that have the capability to use electronic systems.

Practices in the Brisbane North Primary Health Network catchment have been equipped with the GP Smart Referrals solution from New Zealand’s BPAC and are now required to refer patients for specialist outpatient services electronically only.
