Pulse+IT publishes opinion, analysis and case studies from people working in health IT — clinicians, informaticians, project leads, vendors and researchers. If you have something to say about digital health in Australia or New Zealand, we are interested.
What we look for
- A clear argument. Not a summary of what everyone already knows, but a position you are prepared to defend.
- First-hand experience. What actually happened during the implementation, not what the vendor brochure said would happen.
- Specifics. Systems, timeframes, numbers, standards. Generalities about “digital transformation” do not survive our subeditors.
- Relevance to Australasia. International material is welcome where it bears on the local market.
What we do not publish
- Product announcements dressed up as opinion. Those belong in the news desk inbox.
- Pieces conditional on approval rights over our edit.
- Anything ghost-written for a byline that had no part in writing it.
Length and format
Opinion pieces run 700 to 1,200 words. Case studies and technical explainers can run longer. Send a short pitch first — two or three sentences on the argument and why you are the person to make it — rather than a finished draft.

Editing and rights
All contributions are edited for length, clarity and house style. We will show you material changes before publication. Contributors retain the right to be identified as the author; Pulse+IT retains the right to publish and archive the piece.
